The aim of the Civil War Centre is to tell the story of Newark and its residents and to demonstrate the resilience of ordinary lives set against affairs of the nation and the world and to interpret the British Civil Wars and Newark’s key role in them.

The History Galleries will occupy two main rooms to front of building. National Civil War Centre including Object Theatre to rear of building. The National Civil War Centre gallery is set in broad chronological order after introduction section at entrance. A rear room proposed as ‘Object Theatre’ telling the story of how the Civil War affected the people of Newark. Click the thumbnails below to view.
