Trent Vale Challenge – The Big Fund Raising Event! Sunday 17th June to Thursday 21st June
A team of us will be walking along the Trent Vale between East Bridgford and Gainsborough over 4 days. Anyone can join the team for shorter walks along the route, or for a days walk.
Sunday 17th June – Pub Quiz, Royal Oak, East Bridgford from 7pm
Bring a quiz to a quiz. The Museum Team and Friends are joining the pub quiz at the Royal Oak, East Bridgford. Help to answer the Civil War questions and see some of the Civil War related objects.
Monday 18th June – East Bridgford to Southwell 11 miles
9am Leave from Royal Oak, East Bridgford.
Civil War Pub Quiz and Meet the Objects at Saracens Head, Southwell 7-9pm
Tuesday 19th June – Southwell to Newark 10miles
Kelham Hall 1pm – 2pm. Talk about King Charles I surrender to the Scots and lunch stop/publicity/fundraising opportunity?
Civil War Pub Quiz by the Friends and meet the objects at Prince Rupert Newark, 7pm – 9pm
Wednesday 20th June – Newark to Dunham on Trent 18 miles
Thursday 21st June – Dunham to Gainsborough 15 miles
Talk on Gainsborough in the Civil War by Paul Howitt-Cowan, Chair of Friends of Gainsborough Old Hall. Gainsborough Old Hall 7.30-9pm Tea, Coffee and light snacks.
